If you have purchased a Ford Genuine or Motorcraft service part, Ford Motor Company just released a new warranty good for unlimited mileage for 24 months from purchase or installation.
This new warranty may give customers that peace of mind whether they fall in the category of consumers, fleet operators, or independent repair facilities.
"ord is dedicated to constant improvement in all we do. Ford Genuine and Motorcraft replacement parts are approved by Ford engineering,” said Jay Davis, general sales manager, Ford Customer Service. “In the unlikely event a part fails, our new warranty demonstrates our commitment to quality, our customers, and our intent to provide greater peace of mind and an improved ownership experience.”
With that said Ford will now reimburse fleets and independent repair facilities up to $150 in labor coverage and will continue the “No Commercial Exceptions” policy as commitment to fleet customers. This new warranty will reimburse any towing expenses for repairs done at any Ford or Lincoln Dealership.
If the service part purchased under the new warranty fails for some reason and the repair is completed at any Ford or Lincoln dealership, the whole repair cost, labor and towing will all be covered under warranty. If this happened to be completed by an independent installer or fleet facility, Ford will reimburse up to $150 in labor with towing excluded.
For the do-it-yourselfer installing the part themselves, warranty will completely cover the cost of a replacement part for 24 months and unlimited mileage. Labor time for this cannot be reimbursed. Labor can only be reimbursed if done at a fleet or installer facility.
The previous warranty in place was 12 months or 12,000 miles going with whichever one occurred first, and was not applicable to any parts sold over-the-counter to the fleet or installer. Ford decided to up the ante by revamping its warranty plan.
