Trend has a new, lightweight tool steel solid tappet for Ford engines. Designed for circle track and drag racing, it is ideal for both professional and Sportsman competition.
For use with alloy steel and tool steel camshafts, the new lifters/tappets are provided with a DLC coating, and for cast camshafts they are available uncoated. The radii on the annulus helps prevent scuffing of the lifter bores, and the 5/32-inch radius seat matches the 5/16-inch pushrod perfectly.
Superseding the hardened iron and chilled iron lifters, Trend’s new .874-inch diameter tool steel product is both durable and light, weighing less than 79 grams. Durability testing was conducted on all three types of camshafts and also during a full season of Cup racing. There were no failures.
A direct replacement for the Schubeck ceramic-foot lifter and hardened to 64 Rockwell, these new solid tappets provide the strength and toughness necessary to operate at both higher RPM and higher spring pressures. They meet and exceed all present NASCAR Cup engine requirements.
Identified by part number CH-874-LM the new Trend tool steel flat tappet for Ford engines is now available for immediate shipping. For further information, contact Trend Performance at 1-586-447-0400, or visit www.trendperform.com.
