Azusa, Calif. (November 4, 2009) - Legendary performance icon Gale Banks unveiled his latest project at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week, a full-color, touch-screen onboard computer called the Banks iQ.
The powerful hand held PC is packed with functions and applications for use inside and outside of your vehicle. Use the 5” color touch screen to adjust power levels, control downhill cruising speed, change braking intensity, custom tune numerous performance parameters, measure vehicle performance, read your altitude and GPS corrected speed and more all on the fly!
The Banks iQ also allows you to listen to music, watch videos, play games and review Office documents. The stand-alone device works by opening the inner workings of the vehicle's ECU, letting you see what's beyond your dashboard gauges. Select gauges, set alarms, adjust colors, read and clear codes, log data, measure horsepower, acceleration and more - even play video games that are pre-loaded on the system.
Banks iQ is fully expandable and upgradable. A growing stable of optional micro-computer controlled add-on performance and safety peripherals will be available soon, including: nitrous control, a true on-board dyno system, water/methanol injection, boost control, air density meter, air/fuel ratio meter, propane injection, TransCommand® and more. You'll always be able to run the latest software and download a host of new programs as they become available, too!
As of the unveiling at the SEMA Show the iQ is only available for 20XX - 20XX Ford Powerstroke pickups, but broader applications including a general model for all 1996 - Present vehicles with an OBD2 port will be available soon.
