Hobart Welding Products today introduced a new black design to its XVX Series of auto darkening welding helmets. The XVX Series is designed to meet the demands of professional welders and features a 2-3/8-in. x 3-7/8-in. viewing areathe largest of all the Hobart modelswith four independent arc sensors that provide continuous arc-sensing capability for out-of-position welding.
Hobart offers its helmets through farm/ranch and hardware/tool retailers in the U.S. and Canada. The Black XVX Series helmet has an MSRP of $279, however prices and availability may vary by retailer.
A matte-black finish gives the helmet its name and a clean look. Many welders prefer to customize a black helmet to their liking. The XVX Series also features a unique shell within the Hobart line of welding helmets highlighted by a snap-in lens cover for easy access.
The XVX lens darkens in 1/20,000 of a second after arc start and features an internally adjustable auto-darkening shade (#9-13), lens sensitivity and delay controls. The #4 ultra-clear “light-state” makes setup and repositioning of hands and parts more efficient while providing continuous UV and IR protection.
Hobart Welding Products designed the XVX Series to be durable and lightweight weighing in at 11 oz. XVX helmets feature solar-assisted auto-darkening lenses and easy-to-replace lithium batteries that last up to 3,000 hours when MIG welding. The Black helmet comes with five external and two internal protective lens covers. The XVX Series improves comfort and eliminates pinched hair with a re-designed ratchet-style headgear and CoolMax® odor-absorbing sweatband.
