By now you have all heard that the NMRA series will host a special all-Ford event in Houston, TX, the weekend of Nov. 13-15, 2009. This move by NMRA was in direct response to a huge number of calls and e-mails from rabid Texas racers and fans wanting a Ford event in their state after Fun Ford Weekend shut its doors.
Well, our team at Muscle Mustangs wants to support our Texas brothers as well and we’re going to prove it! Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords will join forces with the NMRA and Tremec to host the inaugural Lone Star Shootout. Just like the Spring Break Shootout class in ’09, which had an awesome 107 cars in competition, the Lone Star Shootout will be a heads-up, quick 16 race from Saturday’s Tremec True Street class.
Lone Star Shootout Class Rules:
The Tremec Lone Star Shootout class, presented by Muscle Mustangs, will be a heads-up, Quick 16 format race that will take place on Sunday, November 15th, 2009. The Lone Star Shootout class will be open to the quickest 16 cars that run in the Tremec True Street class on Saturday, Nov. 14th.
To be eligible for the Lone Star Shootout, competitors must meet all True Street rules, compete in the True Street class on Saturday, and make all three True Street passes. The sixteen (16) competitors who have the fastest 3-pass averages will be placed on a sportsman ladder and will race heads-up on a 4/10 pro tree.
Spring Break Shootout Purses:
Winner: $500, 6’ Trophy, + Special TBA Grand Prize
Runner-Up: $200, Plaque, + Special TBA Runner-Up Prize
Semis: $100
Quarters: $50
Eighths: $25
