With our Fox Body Mustangs now about 20 years old, it's usually quite evident that time takes it's toll on our beloved Ponies. While new paint and wheels are the two most impressive things you can add to your Mustang to make it look new again, its the trim around the windows that realoly make it look new again.
We recently repainted our Recession Special Mustang coupe project using Summit Racing's new and quite inexpensive paint system, and we contacted Late Model Restoration for our window trim molding, new head and tail lights, and our two-inch steel cowl induction hood. As well stockd as late Model is with restoration parts for you Fox, they don't have replacement quarter windows or moldings for the coupe body style. They do currently have hatchback glass, and are working toward getting a coupe glass replacement.
Until that happens, you'll need to recondition your current ones with some primer and paint. Problem with the Recession Special was that the moldings were so bad, that they were really not repairable. With that, we called MPS Auto Salvage in Winder, Georgia, as they sell reconditioned quarter glass for both coupes and hatchbacks.
Adding the reconditinioned windows put the final touch to restoring our budget project. It really does look new again. If you've got a coupe and need some new windows, you might want to pick up the phone and give MPS Auto Salvage a call.
