Shelby GT500, SVT, Mike Galimi

Shelby GT500 gets a neat little detail upgrade.

The highly-anticipated 2010 Shelby GT500 was publicly revealed earlier this month. I had the special opportunity to head to Detroit for a sneak peek and the SVT team was kind enough to point out some of the small details that might  get overlooked.

I like the little things on cars and the new Shelby is packed with cool stuff. Here is a shot of the shifter ball on top of the Tremec 6060 six-speed transmission. The SVT masterminds added these neat stripes to the shifter ball.

Overall, the interior of the 2010 Mustangs are far better than the 2005-2009 models. I am not complaining about the interior of my '07 Mustang GT, but there needed to be a few changes. Ford listened to its dealers and customers by addressing many key issues. They also went one step further in some situations, like this shifter knob—giving the interior an even racier looking.
