We don't know where to draw the line where Jason Wilkerson's insane truck ceases to exist as a Gen 2 Lightning and where it begins as a Pro Mod/Pro Street vehicle. What I do know, is that it is one bad ride.
There are a faction of Gen 2 Lightning owners who are chasing the dream of being the quickest and fastest. Johnny Wiker of Johnny Lightning Performance currently leads the way but there are other pro-level trucks looking to dethrone him. Wilkerson is one of those guys.
Skinny Kid Race Cars is responsible for building the chassis and they spared no expense. It is the same design that is found under Pro Mod and Pro Street cars out of the fabled chassis shop. Keith Engling told us that the shop used a lot of carbon fiber and custom fabricated many of parts, including the body. The Gen 2 Lightning body was handmade and it was made sleeker to help the aerodynamics. Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged 5.4L engine.
SKRC recently delivered the truck to Wilkerson and we expect to see some on-track results when the weather gets warmer outside.
