For the past year or so, JR Lewis has been pounding the 1/4-mile with his Terminator. It is a simple Cobra with a built Four-Valve engine, ported heads, bigger cams, C4 transmission, and a live-axle rear out back. He has held the title of the quickest and fastest Terminator, sans nitrous, for the longest time with times in the 9.20-range. That was completed with a Whipple 2.3-liter supercharger on top of the engine.
The time had come for JR to run quicker and Lethal Performance was ready to ship him the product to do so. The Florida speed shop sent the massive 3.4-liter Whipple twin-screw to replace the 2.3 unit. Instantly, the car ran quicker and faster. A few weeks ago, JR ran a career best time during a Cobra Shootout at Maryland International Raceway.
JR ran the first 8-second pass for a blower-only powered Cobra and he finished the weekend with a best time of 8.72 at 158 mph.
