Sure, we all know the F-Series trucks are the number one selling vehicle in America. But recently, it has had quite a bit of competition and it looked as if the Toyota Tundra was going to give the truck a run for its money. Toyota has had the advantage to take the leading product, dissect it, and go after it in every way possible. They have delivered quite an impressive truck, one that had some F150 loyalists converting.
Why did they convert? The biggest reason I have heard from folks I spoke with, fuel economy and power were huge selling points. When the person actually had some time under their belt, the power wasn't what it was all cracked up to be and some of the Tundra owners said their old F150 was better. But the truck did get better gas mileage and that is huge during these struggling times of bad fuel pricing.
Ford stepped it up and recognized its truck needed to upgrade in order to meet the market's demands of better fuel economy. The new 2009 re-designed F150 is more fuel efficient with up to 21 mpg highway ratings. That is a step in the right direction for Ford to continue outselling the competition.
