Lower the electric bill when you fire up the welder by grabbing HTP America’s new Invertig 201 AC/DC TIG welder. This energy-efficient TIG welder delivers 200 amps of welding power, yet pulls just 25 amps. Compared to other TIG welders sold today, the Invertig 201 produces almost 10% more power while using 60% less electricity. The Invertig 201 allows users to vary AC frequency from 20 Hz to 200 Hz while maintaining a square wave throughout the complete range, providing more control over the arc. Running at higher frequencies (150 to 200 Hz) produces a tighter, more focused arc, and results in a narrower bead. Balance is also adjustable from 10% to 90%, a much wider range than is available on competitive equipment.
Inverter technology provides a smooth, stable arc, making intricate framework on mild steel, chromoly, stainless steel, and inconel unusually easy. With variable frequency in AC, the Invertig 201 produces superb results when welding thin aluminum. Pulsing, with a frequency from 0.4 to 300 Hz, is standard. The new Invertig 201 weighs just 65 lbs, and fits in a cabinet measuring 20 inches long by 9 ½ inches wide by 19 ¾ inches high. To further enhance the performance of its highly versatile and accurate Triad TTG Plus tungsten grinder, Weldcraft offers three new grinder accessories; a tungsten cutting holder, a double-decker kit, and a protective cover. The Triad tungsten grinder, which was released in June 2007, features a robust, industrial grade motor that provides consistent tungsten cutting and facing capabilities (up to 5/32-inch) for both orbital and handheld TIG welding applications.
Triad’s first new accessory, an accurate and durable cutting holder, easily and safely cuts .040-, 1/16-, and 13/32-inch diameter tungsten to a fixed length according to the requirements of specific TIG welding applications. Fixed cutting lengths include 15/32-, 33/64-, 19/32-, and 43/64-inch (12, 13, 14, and 17 mm). Weldcraft’s double-decker kit eliminates the need and cost for additional equipment by allowing a second, rough-finish grinding wheel to be quickly and easily attached to the Triad tungsten grinder. This second wheel is included in the kit, and is ideal for scrubbing and/or preparing larger diameter tungsten (3/32- or 1/8-inch). Welding operators can then use the existing standard finish wheel to smooth the tungsten, which helps improve arc-starting capabilities and ensures good weld penetration. The double-decker kit also features an additional grinding head.
