If you are looking to check out some hot and fast muffled drag racing, then don’t miss Old Bridge Township Raceway Park’s Late Model American Muscle Mania event presented by SLP Performance Parts on Saturday, August 23rd. The event is open to all SLP customers, as well as all other modern muscle cars.
The gates open at 9:00 am, with time trials starting at 9:30 am and eliminations kicking off at 1:00 pm. There are four classes to race in-Radial Tires 1 (13.00 and slower), Radial Tires 2 (12.99 and quicker), Slick/Sticky Tire (7.00 and slower), and Front Wheel Drive (7.00 and slower). All four class winners receive $200, runners-up $100, and semi-finalists $50 based on a 32-car class. Trophies are awarded to both the winner and runner-up in each category, and SLP will hand out gift certificates to each class’ winner and runner-up. To race, buck up and pay $30 at the gate, and make sure your car has baffled mufflers, is fuel injected, and will fit into the NHRA rulebook. If you’re just looking to watch, it’s $12 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-11, and free for the little tykes under 6.
