Nitto Tires has new sizes for its 555R Drag Radials.

Way to go Nitto! The folks at Nitto Tires seem to keep their finger on the pulse when it comes to sizing tires for Mustang enthusiasts. This past Spring, the company released the world's first 20-inch Drag Radial in two sizes. They recognized the need for 555R drag radials for the S197 crowd and other segments in the market.

We just came off a huge growth period for 20-inch wheels thanks to the S197 Mustang market. Being it seems so easy to jump up the horsepower in those cars, the Nitto engineers developed a 555R tire for those who want to still have traction, yet keep their large size wheels. My buddy has a set for his turbocharged '06 Saleen and they work great.

Nitto didn't stop there, in addition to the 20-inch drag radials, they have recently released a new 18-inch sized piece. If your aftermarket wheels aren't 20s on your S197, then you most likely  have a set of 18s. For that, Nitto has just released 305/40-18 tires. They are beefy and offer greater traction that regular radials. This size tire might fit SN95 cars as well, I will have to consult with the MM&FF Wheel and Tire guru about it. That would be Steve Baur.
