The name Brian Wolfe carries prominence in the Mustang drag racing scene. He is often thought of as the Godfather of 5.0 Shootouts thanks to his efforts in the early years of our sport. Wolfe's accomplishments are too numerous to list here, but in a nutshell he helped develop parts that would cause the sun to rise in the 5.0-liter performance marketplace.
Wolfe gave up Mustang drag racing as his career as a Ford engineer took him to places like Germany and overseeing major operations in Ford Motor Company. He is now returning to his passion, the performance division of Ford.
He replaces Dan Davis, a man credited with raising Ford Racing to success in NASCAR's Sprint Cup series, Roush-Yates engine program, NHRA's new Boss Nitro engine, as well as leading the way for Ford Racing's involvement in safety within the NHRA and Champ Car racing circuits. Davis was also the driving force behind the highly-successful FR500C program.
Davis will be retiring on August 1, 2008 and we wish him the best of luck as well as welcoming Wolfe to the new director's position.
