I'm pretty sure most of us have to drive our Mustangs on a daily basis, or have Mustangs that we use for day-to-day transport. If this is you, then read on.
My 1990 Coupe is, for all intents and purposes, beat. I bought it for $1500 and it had a blown head gasket and the interior was in pieces. I've got a little over $2000 in it now and we've started using it for a few budget-based upcoming articles.
As much as i hate the way it looks--new Wheel Replicas Salen knockoffs notwithstanding--its lack of a decent paint job comes in handy. Like when you are tailgating a semi loaded with gravel, a lawn service trailer loaded with mulch, or if you live in sunny Florida, when the Love bugs com out twice a year for some lovin'.
Let the rocks, the chips, and the bug guts trash the front end. I only wash my new wheels, which take all of five minutes to do. No need to waste time washing the whole car. I've got better things to do.
