Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords has had its fair share of project cars over the years, and we can usually tell how much readers enjoy them by the mail we receive concerning them.
Every now and then we are able to take our project vehicles to various events and it's always interesting to see how many people recognize them.
Just two weekends ago, yours truly showed up at the 2008 NMRA Spring Nationals with project Stolen Goods, our low-mileage 1993 Cobra that we resurrected over the course of 2007. Within minutes of parking it beside our subscription booth, it was drawing attention and throughout the weekend, numerous spectators swarmed the Teal snake.
Feedback on the project was very positive, and the clean, low-mileage nature of Stolen Goods seemed to really impress people. We had thought about running the car in True Street, but being the first race of the year, we needed to concentrate on the event, however you’ll be able to catch the Cobra at the SVTOA/Camp Steeda event this May, as we’ll be attending the driving school and hoping to hit the apexes at Sebring International Raceway.
As far as projects go, Stolen Goods seemed to have been a hit and we’ll be bringing it back from time to time. We have more projects waiting in the wings though, starting with Evan Smith’s Shelby Shaker GT500, and we’ve got some four-eyed fun coming your way too. As we’ve done in the past, we’ll do our best to make sure they hit home with our readers if you promise to keep the mail coming.
