Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine, the largest all-Ford magazine in the world, is moving its wildly popular True Street Challenge racing class to the NMRA Ford Nationals (NMRA) series for the 2007 season.

In a move designed to stir growth and to reach new markets, MM&FF will be aligned with the ever-growing NMRA for 2007 and possibly beyond. Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords True Street Challenge will be contested at all seven NMRA races in 2007, including the season opener in Bradenton, Florida.

The True Street Challenge was developed by the MM&FF staff in 1993 to determine who had the quickest street-legal 5-liter Mustang in America. The class quickly grew from a single race to a multi-event category and became the largest street-legal category in drag racing, with some venues fielding 150 or more cars. The MM&FF True Street Challenge has proven to be an exciting class for the enthusiast looking strut his stuff in a safe, competitive environment. Over the years, the class has grown to include 4.6- and 5.4-liter Modular Mustangs, as well as other high-performance Ford Motor Company vehicles.

Each Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords True Street event will be extensively covered on the pages of the magazine and on its Internet web site (www.musclemustangfastfords.com) and The Top 25 racers will be listed in the coverage.

Virtually any late-model Ford combination is allowed and the format is quite simple: After passing technical inspection and providing proof of registration and insurance, racers complete a police-escorted, 30-mile road tour before making three back-to-back passes on the quarter-mile. Throughout the event, racers must keep the hood shut and no tuning or refueling is allowed. This maintains the original spirit of the class, which mimics a "true" street encounter. The overall winner of each True Street event is determined by the racer with the quickest three-run average. Prizes are also awarded to those with the quickest 15-, 14-, 13-, 12-, 11-, and 10-second averages.

Interested racers can contact the NMRA for a complete breakdown of the True Street rules at (add address) or at nmraracing.com.

Charlie Harmon of the NMRA said, "Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords is an undisputed leader in Ford performance publishing and a very welcome partner with the NMRA Ford Nationals. We look forward to meeting thousands of Muscle Mustangs readers who want to test their skills on the track at an NMRA event in 2007."
