The days when cars came off the assembly line with manual-steering boxes are long gone. If you get to poking around a boneyard, though, chances are you can find a few automobiles without power steering. Now those vehicles
can free up some cheap horsepower and crank the steering wheel around easier thanks to Flaming River's new electronic power-steering pump. Designed for use on vehicles weighing around 3,200 pounds, the pump can be used on both manual steering boxes and manual rack-and-pinions. The system comes with an electronic steering controller, a driver-controlled potentiometer, an electric-drive motor assembly, steering system couplers, and a wiring harness.
